Dresden, Freiberg, and Fußball!

Last weekend we visited another one of Mike's mission companions and his family in Freiberg.
While we were there, we also went to Dresden, in honor of our nephew. It is a really pretty city.

Although Dresden was nice, James--this bilingual wonder--was our favorite part of the trip! James always speaks in the third person and James is always falling down and Cookie Monster is always naked.
We really went so that Mike could play in his companion's stake soccer tournament, but I was too busy watching the team's matching uniforms (shorts, socks, shirts), Mike's goals, a guy's kneecap pop out and another guy's concussion to take any pictures. Altogether it was a great way to end our break before Mike started school again this week.

Mike's Bread

The other night Mike decided to make some bread. There was only one problem. After he put it in the oven, we fell asleep.

Some Final Pics from Switzerland

The farmlands from the top of a local tower.
The Alps off in the distance.
Lukas and Maaike (Mike's mission companion and his wife)
After the tower, we headed to the Bieler See and found this swan building a nest.
It was a little foggy, but still really pretty.
This picture is from too far away, but we saw some of those birds that run across the water.
We finished the day off by feeding the little birdies.
This castle was on the way home. On the way there, it was sunny and really pretty, but we weren't smart enough to stop and take a picture on the way.
This is also a sloppy picture, but it was a last ditch effort to catch a picture of the countryside from the car.

Temple Trip to Bern

Last weekend we visited one of Mike's mission companions and his wife in Switzerland. We also went to the temple.

When we came out of the temple, a missionary couple was playing the Swiss alp horn.

So, we gave it a shot! We quickly found out why Mike never tried playing any wind instruments.
And I think I just couldn't stop laughing after all of Mike's faces.
